The Milgram Experiment Practice Reading Blog

"The Milgram Experiment" by Saul McCleod is a article about How far most people were willing to go to obey authority.

In this article people were instructed to electrocute their students every time they got an answer Incorrect. Each time a the student answered a question incorrectly they would be shocked, each shock would be worse than the last, with the volts going from 15 volts- 450 volts. Each time the teacher refused to shock the student they would be instructed to continue by the authoritative figure in the room. This Experiment was designed to determine whether or not what the Nazis did was to obey authority or just out of pure evil

This Article gave me an insight on why the Nazi's killed so many people. It shows that most people will harm another person just to obey authority. In my opinion it wasn't evil for the teachers to electrocute the students because they were just following their orders
